Materials You’ll Need

  • Popsicle Sticks
  • Markers
  • Tape

Step 1: Create Your Puzzle

4

To begin, help your little decide how big the puzzle should be and lay out the amount of popsicle sticks needed on a flat surface. Using tape (I usually use Painter’s Tape), secure the popsicles sticks to the table so they do not move. With markers, have your child draw their own picture, whatever they desire, onto the top of the popsicle sticks.  When finished, remove the tape from the popsicle sticks and discard.

Step 2: Disassemble & Play!

6

Mix up the popsicle sticks and see if your little can reassemble their puzzle back into the correct order to see their picture again. Play again and again. Or turn over the popsicle sticks and repeat step 1 to create a new picture puzzle.

Tip: When using both sides of the popsicle sticks for different drawings, make sure to label each side of the sticks with a small “A” and “B” to keep track of each puzzle.
